Mark hill was used as a training area when the JK was held in Dalbeattie in 1981. Since then it has suffered wind damage, felling and close packed replanting and hence has not been used for a full event for many years. However, as the trees grow again more sections are showing promise of being something other than 'fight'. This area has been used in recent years for club training.
