  • If you take part in one of our events your name will appear in the results and be published on the web. Your name may also appear in the local newspaper reports.

  • We take photos at our events which may be used for promotion of the sport and club; including posting them on the web, displaying on local posters, illustrating club or national newsletters and accompanying newspaper articles. The club will not directly link juniors names to photographs.

  • If you have a pre⁃existing medical condition that you think an organiser of one of our events should know about should symptoms arise while orienteering, you can download a form on the following link. Medical form

    Solway Orienteers has set up some courses using an app called MapRunF. There are currently 5 courses in Dumfries & Galloway with more on the way. To find out more go to the WHAT'S NEW page of this web site.

    Night O in Castledykes Park, Dumfries

    The start times will run from 18.00 to 19.00.
    Courses close at 19.30.

    There will be 3 courses on offer.
    SHORT 1.5km
    MEDIUM     2.7km
    LONG 4.4km.

    Parking will be in the small carpark in Castledykes Park. You can see the location on this link Location of car Park

    Entry fees for this event are £5 per adult and £2.50 per junior for members of this or another orienteering club and £7 and £3.50 for adult and junior non-members respectively.

    Pre-entries close at 22:00 on 22nd January.

    There will be a small number of extra maps for entry on the day at the event Non members are welcome. If you are new to the sport and let us know you are coming along we will ensure there is an experienced orienteer on hand to help you get started.

    For this event you will need a torch with sufficient battery power to last for the duration of the time you are out on the course.

    The start times will run from 10.30 to 12.00.
    Courses close at 13.30.

    There will be 3 courses on offer.
    SHORT suitable for beginners, families and juniors. Checkpoints will be on or close to paths.
    MEDIUM ideal for people with some orienteering experience. Expect to go short distances off paths
    LONG This course is designed for experienced orienteers.

    Parking will be in the forest carpark. You can see the location on this link Location of the car park. N.B. the car park is small. If possible please car share.

    Entry fees for this event are £5 per adult and £2.50 per junior for members of this or another orienteering club and £7 and £3.50 for adult and junior non-members respectively.
