If you take part in one of our events your name will appear in the results and be published on the web. Your name may also appear in the local newspaper reports.
We take photos at our events which may be used for promotion of the sport and club; including posting them on the web, displaying on local posters, illustrating club or national newsletters and accompanying newspaper articles. The club will not directly link juniors names to photographs.

MapRunF
Solway Orienteers has set up some courses using an app called MapRunF. There are currently 5 courses in Dumfries & Galloway with more on the way. To find out more go to the WHAT'S NEW page of this web site.

This weekend is open to members of Solway Orienteers. An email has been sent out to club members.
Sat. 18 Jan 2025Kilsture Forest near Wigtown
Parking will be in the car park off the B7004. You can see the location of the car park on this link location of car park.
The starts will run from 10.30 to 12.00.
Courses close at 13.30.
There will be 3 courses to choose from. NB course distances are approximate.
Short 1.7 k suitable for juniors, families and beginners. The checkpoints will be on or close to paths.
Medium 3.0 k - Suitable for those with some orienteering experience. Check points will be located away from paths and line features. Expect to go cross country over rough ground for short distances.
Long 4.9 k - Suitable for experienced orienteers. Expect to go cross country over rough terrain.
The entry fees for members are £4 per adult and £2 per junior. Non members fees are £6 per adult and £3 per junior. Non members are welcome and there will be help on hand for anyone who is new to the sport to get started.
