If you take part in one of our events your name will appear in the results and be published on the web. Your name may also appear in the local newspaper reports.

We take photos at our events which may be used for promotion of the sport and club; including posting them on the web, displaying on local posters, illustrating club or national newsletters and accompanying newspaper articles. The club will not directly link juniors names to photographs.

MapRunF Solway Orienteers has set up some courses using an app called MapRunF. There are currently 5 courses in Dumfries & Galloway with more on the way. To find out more go to the WHAT'S NEW page of this web site.

Wed. 8 May 2024	Coaching session 1 Rounall Wood, Dalbeattie. Whether you are a complete beginner looking to learn about the sport, an experienced orienteer who wants some time honing navigation skills or somewhere in between, this is for you. Solway orienteers hold a block of coaching evenings in May. You can attend as many or as few of these sessions as you wish but if you attend all 4 the aim will be to give opportunities for participants to learn, practice and build on navigational skills. If you are a beginner you will be able to get round an orienteering course by the end of the 4 sessions. To enable our coaches to plan more effectively and ensure that there are enough maps and resources to go round we will be asking people to book their place. The link to the form will be posted here and on our website once booking is open. Sessions will start at 18.30 and last somewhere around an hour to an hour and a half. Cost £2.00 for members adult & junior. Non members adult £5.00 and junior £3.00 If you are a non member and attend all 4 sessions you will have the opportunity to convert your entry fee into club membership at no extra cost.
